A People . . .
We are blessed with a community as diverse and unique as our home town: young and old, gay and straight, seekers and believers, locals, weekenders, travelers, old fashioned and newfangled. We respect, honor and encourage every voice, and seek to advocate for those who have none.
A Vicar . . .
Reverend Whitney Roberson, most recently of Grace Cathedral of San Francisco, particularly enjoys fostering conversation among all of us. She preaches from personal experience, weaving the insights of solid Biblical scholarship with the Gospel story so that we can make connections to our own life stories. Whitney especially enjoys children and families, encouraging us to reach out to a new generation of seekers. In addition, through occasional "retreat days" she offers today's busy women a chance to connect with the deeper parts of themselves.
A Liturgy . . .
While our services embrace the Episcopal tradition of the Anglican Communion, we simultaneously explore contemporary ways of expressing the faith. Together we experience the movement of divine Mystery, especially as this is made known to us through Jesus Christ. The hallmark of our service is our shared sermon, which offers every member of the congregation the opportunity share insights into the Scripture readings of the day. Then, as we gather at the Table, we are nourished and strengthened by God, who inspires us to our best while accepting us exactly as we are.
Again and again visitors tell us . . .
This is what church is supposed to be like. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey you are welcome at St. Aidan's.
